TonTon is a Senior AI Architect and Tech Lead with 10+ years of R&D experience, holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Deep Learning and Cyber Threats. He specializes in taking AI systems from ground zero to production spanning Natural Language Processing, speech processing, computer vision, cybersecurity and Intelligent Service Robots with a consistent focus on real-world impact over research novelty.
On the AI side, he has built end-to-end systems integrating speech enhancement, ASR/TTS, speaker recognition, and semantic understanding for telecommunications and financial sectors. His work includes applying speaker recognition as part of Taiwan's COVID-19 pandemic response, developing production-grade fraud detection models that identify phone scams and deceptive advertising, and being recognized by the NVIDIA Developer Program for applying AI to optimize mobile systems. He was also named one of Career Magazine's Top 10 In-Demand Talents.
On the cyber security side, he pioneered a technique that transforms program bytecode into visual representations, enabling CNNs to detect Android malware, ransomware, and smart contract vulnerabilities. He has built hybrid analysis frameworks combining semantic static analysis and dynamic execution to defeat modern evasion techniques, and developed open-source tooling for digital forensics and anti-VM behavior analysis (TWMAN). His research has been presented at DEF CON, RuxCon, OWASP AppSec, and HITCON (2015 Keynote, 2014), and his expertise in mobile fraud prevention was featured by BBC News.
His foundational insights were shaped by international research at Inria (France) and the University of Essex (UK). He currently architects end-to-end "Enterprise Sovereign AI" & "AI Governance" solutions, embedding rigorous logic defenses to ensure compliance in highly regulated environments. Spearheaded the R&D of cutting-edge information systems integrating AI and cybersecurity. Leveraging core technologies in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Multimodal Models, I successfully developed mission-critical applications including dark web threat intelligence platforms, ASR error correction, and automated accounting OCR. I led the development of cross-domain AI architectures and solutions, specializing in NLP, OCR, and speech recognition. I spearheaded the creation of NER and event extraction systems for medical diagnosis analysis, alongside automated OCR tools for high-precision text and table extraction. Furthermore, I engineered speech recognition and denoising solutions for remote insurance and customer service QA, significantly optimizing operational standards. As a Senior Security Engineer at Verint Systems, I specialized in Android security architectures and advanced malware analysis. I pioneered the development of APKProbe, a hybrid malware probing system that integrates semantic-based static analysis with physical cluster-based dynamic analysis to bypass complex code obfuscation and anti-sandboxing techniques. As an Assistant Researcher at the National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC), I pioneered the development of TWMAN (Taiwan Malware Analysis Network), an open-source automated malware behavior analysis toolkit. By integrating DRBL (Diskless Remote Boot in Linux) technology, I engineered a high-efficiency and scalable analysis framework for Windows platforms. In addition to R&D, I managed the operations of the Southern Taiwan Academic Network, conducted advanced cybersecurity research, and delivered custom technical training, demonstrating a strong foundation in bridging high-performance computing with practical security solutions.
